LifeLearn puts social product development and collaboration to work for veterinarians in hard-hit regions

MONTREAL, August 21, 2012 – OneDesk Inc. (www.onedesk.com), provider of the world’s first Unified social Product Platform is pleased to announce the successful implementation of its complete suite of integrated applications for LifeLearn, a global leader in the development of leading-edge educational resources for life sciences professionals based at the prestigious Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph, Canada.

With a broad scope of services in support of a global mission to “Bring Learning to Life”, LifeLearn merges science, design and technology to create engaging, effective and easy-to-use educational programs and interactive content focused on improving human and animal health worldwide. With multiple programs and projects to be designed, managed and delivered continuously by working teams distributed across Canada, the US and at project sites in the developing world, LifeLearn was looking for a collaborative platform that allowed communication and engagement at every stage of development.

After a lengthy testing and selection process, LifeLearn chose OneDesk because of its unique ability to provide multi-level collaboration within complex projects.

“We needed a collaborative environment that could successfully fuse the social components in the best Web 2.0 applications with the depth of an enterprise project and product management suite,” said Kim McKay, Technology Operations & Service Manager at LifeLearn. “We looked at least at 30 different pieces of software, and the only one that could deliver on our needs was OneDesk.”

OneDesk is the only product that manages helpdesk, issues, projects, ideas, requirements, customer feedback, and roadmaps all within the same platform. It bridges the gap between different teams inside and outside the organization and breaks down the silos that stifle productivity.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the collaborative power and reach of OneDesk to such a dynamic and visionary organization as LifeLearn,” said Derek Gold, Vice President of Product Marketing at OneDesk. “It is precisely this kind of distributed team model, focused on continuous project and product development delivery that OneDesk was built for. We look forward to many years of progressive collaboration with LifeLearn to further improve our unique approach to social product collaboration and help them deliver mission critical projects.”

Most recently, LifeLearn joined forces with international NGO, Veterinarians Without Borders / Vétérinaires sans Frontières as a part of a major, multi-year, multi-site project to bring mobile distance learning programs to agricultural communities in the developing world. Focused on delivering potential life-saving information on the ground, the project has enormous potential to improve health in some of the world’s hardest hit countries.
