Webforms are used to collect information from your customers and translate that information into items in OneDesk. Through webforms, you allow your customers to create different item types in the OneDesk application. You are able to create a webform for every item type, such as ticket or task, that you have enabled.
In OneDesk, you can have up to 10 different types of tickets, 10 different types of tasks, and 10 different types of features. For each one of those 30 types, you can create a unique webform.
To enable different item types, navigate to the tickets, tasks, or features application in your administrative section. You will need to activate the features application to be able to use it. In the application section, toggle the Show Hidden Types icon. Click the toggle next to the item types you want to activate.
To create a new webform, first, click the More Applications icon on the bottom left side of the OneDesk application. Click the cog icon to navigate to the administration section. Click Webforms from the list of applications. In the “Select a Type to Create a Webform”, choose the type of item that your webform will create in OneDesk. Click Create Webform.
Now that you have created your webform, you are able to customize its appearance and select what properties appear on the webform.
You can decide which portal to embed your webform on, change the title and subtitle. And you can add different custom properties. To add another property, click on the Add Another Property to the Webform button here, select from the list or click Create a Custom Field. Give the property a name. Select the type of information you want to collect. Select here which project this custom field should appear in. All Projects is automatically selected. You can decide if you want this field to be visible or not. Then, depending on the type, fill out the information here. For text, set a default message. For number, set a default number. For date, set a default date. And so on. You can leave default options empty, but you will have to input individual choices for the choice type. Click create to create the Custom Field. You can click the Preview button to preview the changes you’ve made to your form.
Now if you want to embed your webform directly onto your webpage, you will need to identify the webform URL first. When you click the preview button, it’ll open up your form in a new tab and you can copy and paste the URL and put it into this code. Just add the URL in the middle and copy and paste this code where you need the form to be.
