What’s new in OneDesk? – December 2021

The December 2021 release of OneDesk went live on December 17 2021 and includes a ton of new Features.

New ‘Financials’ App (beta)

OneDesk is introducing a new “Financials” app. This app is designed to help you plan and track your costs and income as you work on Projects and Tickets. There is a lot to talk about with this app, so for more detail please read our latest Post on the subject. In the meantime, here are some of the highlights:

Archiving Tickets

By popular demand you can now archive and auto-archive your tickets (or tasks) individually. When you archive a ticket it is moved to a new “archival” project which is versioned by year. You can easily un-archive the ticket from there.

You can also choose to auto-archive old tickets that have not been updated for a while. You can easily do this using a new workflow automation action “archive items”.

Time-Tracking – Down to the Minute

If you would like to track work performed on tickets and tasks, down to the minute, that is now possible.

Now when you enter timesheets or run timers you can enter the days, hours, and minutes you spent, and also specify the start and finish times to the exact minute.

Recovering Deleted Tickets and Tasks

If you have ever deleted a ticket or task by accident, this is for you. Now when you delete an item it is instead archived for 1 week after which it is permanently deleted. Recover it the same way you would an archived item by going to the archive and restoring it.

New Importing Options

OneDesk has always allowed you to import many things, but we have made it even better.

Improvements to On-Premise Installer (beta)

The next update to our on-premise version is now available. This includes dozens of improvements to the installation process, bug fixes, and a beta release of our Cloud-to-on-premise migration capability.

If you are a cloud customer and are interested in migrating to on-premise, please get in touch to learn about the process. While the pricing for the on-premise version is the same, on-premise licensing does require updating your license to at least 1-year from the migration date (we will pro-rate any remaining time you have on your cloud license).

Ability to Turn Off Some External Services

OneDesk now offers the ability to turn on/off certain external services, such as the public API, portal API, Integration Services, Messenger, and Mobile. If this is a requirement for your account please let us know, and we can assist with the configuration.
